How many times have you gone to the Christian bookstore and found the great writings, great music, and great videos created from an Independent Baptist perspective?

That's the problem, isn't it?
Well, the problem really is that most of our talented writers, musicians, and preachers, are busy traveling the country as evangelists, or preaching at or overseeing music ministries at their local churches.
As Independent Baptists, God has burdened us to create a place online that was separated from the world, but utilize the cutting edge technological advances to promote spiritual growth thru the fellowship of the saints online.

Premium Members can have access to all the materials in the free members area as well as access to some of the greatest writings, music, messages available today. These "content providers" as we like to refer to them, will provide us each month with their devotionals, books, messages and music for your use. Some materials can be downloaded and printed, some will only be available online, but only as long as you stay a premium member.

P.S from Ken> OK, some of you are still thinking...This is all new to me. I understand. Let me give you some additional food for thought about why we are doing this and how we plan for this to be our ministry for years to come.
I own a software development company called MeSocial, www.mesocial.com.
As someone very earnestly involved in serving the Savior and being more like Him, and leading others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, I wanted to find a ministry where God could use my talents for Him. I love to write, preach and teach, but God has not yet called me to be a pastor.
In addition, my company has built social networking sites and tools for over three years now and I wanted to find a way to bring Independent Baptists together. I strongly believe in the autonomy of the local church, but I believe we can all be "edified by one another", thru the power of the Internet. Again, this should never replace our service and fellowship at a local church.
Furthermore, we wanted to provide a better way for evangelists, writers and musicians to receive revenue for their labors. In creating this site, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions that we would like to answer below:

Q: Why did you create Edify One Another?
A: At Edify One Another, we wanted to create an internet haven of rest for Independent Baptists with the best available technology to provide the highest quality content and to promote community interaction. Our goal is to use social networking media to encourage the spiritual growth of our community.
Q: Edify One Another is a great site with sermons, daily devotionals..etc, do I still need to go to church?
A: Yes and YES! At Edify One Another, we believe that attendance in a local church is commanded in the Scriptures and vital for spiritual growth in every Christian’s life. Our goal is to provide a platform away from church that will compliment believer’s in their walk with God as we encourage and learn from one another.
Q: Is Edify One Another for Independent Baptists only?
A: While the purpose and goal of our content is aimed towards independent Baptists, we allow anybody to become a member of our website as long as they abide within our terms of use.
Q: Why do I have to pay to receive certain content?
A: First, at Edify One Another, we want to be able to provide a safe haven free from the worry of advertising and other outside influences of the world.
Secondly, a portion of each monthly premium will go directly to support missions as well as the costs associated with site administration and bandwidth used on our website.
Third, our goal is to continually provide and add new quality content of books, devotionals, music and videos each and every month and pay the providers for their labor.
Q: What is the best way to contact the Edify One Another staff should I have a question, suggestion, or concern about my membership or any part of this website?
A: First, you can contact our staff by navigating to the Edify One Another Home Page and clicking on “Contacts” in the upper right hand corner. From there you can submit a ticket and track any previous questions.
Second, you may also submit any suggestions and concerns not personal in nature to our Edify One Another Community Feedback section of the forums.
Finally, complete our surveys as we are always interested in hearing what you have to say!
Q: I am in full time ministry or going into full time in the ministry and was wondering how I could be more involved with Edify One Another or make it a useful tool to my personal ministry?
A: We are currently looking for content partners for articles, video sermons, Godly music, books, etc. You can contact us through our support desk and we will be happy to discuss how you could be apart of our Edify One Another providers.
Also, our missionaries can sign up for free at our Edify Missions site and post support letters for all your supporters to see on the Net. Members of our website can donate directly to your paypal account. We do not handle any of the monies donated and all of the donations will go directly to missionaries or the missionary’s account at their appropriate missions board.
Q: My whole family would like to create a profile on your website, do you require a separate paid membership for each family member?
A: No! With each paid membership, you have the option of creating as many profiles for each family member in your household. Keep in mind that each person must login to Edify One Another using the same premium username and password.
Q: What is the best way I can spread the word about Edify One Another?
A: First, our “Find Your Friends” tool will allow you to import your address book if you use Gmail, Yahoo!, Hotmail, or AOL email accounts. Once you find your friends from your contact folder online, you can write a short message and invite them to come visit the site.
Second, word of mouth is always the best way. Tell your coworkers, friends at church and people in your Bible Study Groups about Edify. The greatest thing you could do for Edify One Another is personally give a recommendation.
Q: I am new to Edify One Another, where do I get started?
A: Guest Members: Feel free to post prayer requests in our guest forum and browse our articles, daily devotionals, verse of the week, browse our bookstore partner, or locate a church near you in our church listings.Premium Members: We would recommend you create a profile account in our social community, and browse our forums for any topic of interest to you. Read missionary support letters, watch our video messages, listen to music, read our books, articles…anything you choose!
Q: What incentives are there for participation?
A: We want to create an exciting place for our members to be involved. Currently, we offer valuable certificates for participation in our short surveys. We also are looking into special recognition for those actively involved in our forums. If you have an interesting article you would care to share with us, submit it to Edify One Another, and if your article is selected to be published, you may be eligible for a special gift. |
